OFWs, Starting August 1, Show Receipt of New Items If You Are Sending Balikbayan Box

The Bureau Of Customs will start implementing a new rule regarding OFW balikbayan boxes this coming August 1 and it will surely agitate our modern day heroes.
According to the new rule, the contents of the balikbayan boxes should be on an itemized list, if the item is bought abroad brand new, the receipts must be attached to it. The sender also has to prove that he/she is a Filipino.

The forwarding companies warned that the new rule could slow down and delay the delivery of balikbayan boxes to their recipients.
The implementation of Customs Memorandum Order 04-2017 will result to hassle of sending balikbayan boxes and the issue will affect millions of OFWs worldwide.
